Green Fatigue

Post-Copenhagen and Climategate, the wheels have fallen off the man-made global warming wagon faster than Tipper Gore leaving Big Al in her getaway Prius.

The failing global economy did a lot of the damage, who can afford to address a make-believe problem like ‘global warming’ when fear about employment and housing are real concerns?

But a lot of the blame for the collapse in public support are the smug, fear-mongering warmists themselves, whether they be actual ‘scientists’ or their cheerleaders.  How do the Sierra Club or Conservation International and the Nature Conservancy look to a bemused public now that they are revealed to have been raking in money from Big Oil and Big Chemical?

Yet many of the green organizations meant to be leading the fight are busy securing funds from those who are also destroying the environment through mining and exploration. Sierra Club — the biggest green group in the U.S. — was approached in 2008 by the maker of Clorox bleach, which said that if the club endorsed its new range of “green” household cleaners, they would give it a percentage of the sales. The club’s corporate accountability committee said the deal created a blatant conflict of interest — but took it anyway. Money talks.

The public sees hypocrites like Al Gore preaching one lifestyle while leading another and they read constant alarmist nonsense and switch off.

Call it green fatigue, people have had enough doom and gloom.

It doesn’t help that most green solutions come with unintended and negative consequences.  CFL light bulbs use less electricity, but can affect health and contain toxic mercury.  Wind farms ruin views and shred birds, solar panels need toxic chemicals for their manufacture, kill bugs and have a short shelf life.  Chemical bans increase human suffering and discomfort.  Electric cars use batteries than use rare earth elements, some of the least eco-friendly substances on the planet.

The planet is fine, doing what it always does, warming and cooling in natural cycles.  Warmists pretend man has something to do with it because they are anti-human, anti-energy, anti-technology ecotarded luddites.  What solutions do they propose for when nature really gets going?  The truth is we are powerless to stop nature doing whatever it wants, all we can do is cope, innovate and overcome.

It’s an inconvenient truth that drives warmists crazy, but the world is waking up to the biggest hoax ever attempted.

Big Green is done for.

  1. Well said! Short and sweet.

I like to tell the eco-dolts their five years of ‘reducing their footprint’ and apologizing for their presence was blown away in the first hour of Eyja’s eruption. And forget the ash; it’s all in the CO2 and SO2.
